things you need the most:

5 gallons of water: for rehydrating yourself since sea water cannot be used.
24 chocolate bar, 1 survival meal: will act as food for days to come if you cannot find any island or rescue.
Fishing Kit: if food is gone, you can go catch fish for food.

If everyone is full:

Sextant, Maps of Pacific Ocean: if anyone , knows how to use these things, you can easily calculate your location and possible location of any islands.
Small Transistor Radio: to try and contact anyone for SOS call.

If you encounter any ships or plane:

Shaving mirror: for signal

If you reach any island:

floatable seat cushion: to go there if you are near the island.
15 feet of nylon rope: to tie the raft.
five $1 bills,packet of matches,2 gallons oil gas mix(use 1 quart of 20 proof rum if gas is out): to try and create a fire to signal anyone.

20 squares feet black plastic(as your sleeping bag; can also be use as a signal for SOS.
