Do Jehovah’s Witnesses go to OTHER people’s birthday parties?

My daughter is four and we are giving her her first ever birthday party. My neighbors have two children flanking my daughter’s age. The children get along fine, but they don’t really play together. We’ve never gone over and played at their house nor they at ours. However, out of sheer neighborliness, I thought it prudent to invite them. They are Jehovah’s Witnesses however and this makes me wonder if it would even be appropriate to invite them. Would it be considered insensitive to send their small children a fun looking party invitation only to subject them to the disappointment of not being able to go?

I don’t want them to look at the invite and think “We never even play with this kid. Are they just fishing for presents?” Or “Don’t they know we don’t celebrate birthdays?”

I would not send them an invite to a birthday party. Usually a birthday party is for people who know the birthday person.

If the kids do not even play together or hardly know each other, I would not be inviting them. I doubt that the parents would even show their kids the invite since they probably would not allow them to go and they may think it strange they are being invited when the kids don’t even know each other well.

If you would like the kids to get to know each other do a bbq or something and invite them to it.
