Can you help me with a Garage/yard sale?
Hi!
I have never done at Garage/yard sale before. My husband has when he was younger in LA. I am planing to put an ad in the local papers for this weekend. I was thinking of this Saturday from 8-2 PM.
How can I word it in the paper with out saying to much & at the same time get a persons attention? How can I organize it so that people can find things fast. How did you help people find your house?? I was thinking of putting balloons up.

Little Girl Baby clothes
Brand new pet supplies ( Dogs, cats, fish, reptile & small animal)
Adult clothes
A bed with a slide
other odds and ends

I go to many garage sales in the summer. Those who frequent them only need signs that say sale and an arrow. Put your ad in the paper and on Craigslist.
Have free coffee so people linger. Price realistically. And be sure everything is labeled. If there is anything of possible value, such as jewelry, keep it close to the cash box, and never let the cash box out of your sight. Be sure you have lots of change.
Put little bits in baggies for the kids. My granddaughter loved getting little bags of kids stuff for a quarter or 50 cents.
I wouldn’t bargain too much at the beginning of the sale, but towards the end, you can make deals.
Recruit help. No early birds. They are frequently “pickers.” Don’t fall for stories like they are going out of town and would really like to see your stuff.
