what fishing line to use for a daiwa 7ht millionare?
Hi im getting one of these babys and need to know what line to put on for beach casting? Also what type of shock leader i need and how much length to put on?
im in england and will hopefully be catching bass, smoothys, gar, mackeral from inshore.
15lb main line and for your shock leader 10lb for every 1oz of casting weight plus 10lb , so for a 5oz (approx 150 gram ) you would want a 60lb leader as 50lb for a 4oz and 70lb for a 6oz.
Length would have to be i would say 2 and a half times the length of your rod so you have at least 6 turns on your reel when you are about to cast. There are some great tapered shock leaders on the market ( see your local tackle shop or look in Sea Angler magazine ) these make a much smaller knot between leader and main line.
