best fishing hook for croakers?
I am fishing in the chesapeake bay for croakers and spots, and as soon as I throw the line in with a nightcrawler on it, the fish are easily able to pull the worm off without getting hooked. Can anybody recommend a good hook for croaker/spot fishing?
I know absolutely nothing about saltwater fishing, but I do remember fishing at piers, and catching a lot of Croakers. The rods and reels that I used were provided by a little shop by the pier. They came equipped with a rig with a large pyramid weight, and two size 2/0 circle hooks. They did just fine for the Croakers.
