How do I move a light fitting?
I have a new build appartment with plasterboard ceilings. The light fitting needs to be moved a couple of feet.
I can’t take the floorboards up in the room above (the floor being concrete and the appratment not mine!)
The difficulty I’m having is with how I’m going to move the power cable. I’m happy with installing the fitting and wiring it, but how do I get the power supply to the new loction? I can drill a new hole in the new location but how do I thread it through?
I’d rather not take out a huge chunk of plasterboard and or have wiring running across the ceiling.
Is there some kind of tool with a hook on the end that I send through the hole to fish the wire along with?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
You should tell the nice folks from the USA that you are not in the USA. Not that it matters, as their answers would be wrong here too.
