salt bath overdose FISH?
HI I HAVE A GOLDFISH A BLACK MOORE
AND I PUT HIM ON SALT FOR THE PAST WEEK BECAUSE SOME ONE AT ALL EXPERTS TOLD ME TO DO SO FOR HIS FUNGUS .
. WELL LAST NIGHT HE STARTED ACTING STRANGE BREATHIN HARD AND STAYIN AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK , IN THE MORING AROUND 2AM HE STARTED ACTING LIKE HE WAS DIEING SO I TOOK HIM OUT OF THE TANK AND PUT HIM IN SOME NEW WATER IN A BUCKET HE LOOKS REALLY BAD HE’S JUST LAYING THERE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BUCKET HARDLY BREATHING IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR HIM ??PLEASE HELP BEFOR HE PASS’S AWAY I HAVE HAD THIS FISH FOR 2 YEARS …
I USED API AQUARIUM SALT 1 TEASPOON BECAUSE HE IS IN A 10 GALLON TANK I DID A 20% WATER CHANGE EVERYDAY AND THEN ADDED 20% OF THE TEASPOON …I KNOW THAT A WEEK SOUNDS LIKE A LONG TIME BUT THE PEOPLE AT ALL EXPERTS TOLD ME TO DO IT FOR 14 DAYS…
Put your fish in water that has no salt in it. make sure to keep the water well oxygenated and have a filter circulating it. it should be fine as long as everything in the water is in balance (neautral ph, no ammonia, etc) also try and do some water changes in the bucket because some of teh salt in the fishes body might be moving into the new water. best of luck!
